You might laugh, but English culture has helped shape a big part of what Israel has become today. Some of what the British built has disappeared. For example, the rail roads are being re-constructed only in recent years after they were destroyed, perhaps not so wisely....? England helped us in developing Israel's infrastructure, roads, health and education systems, the economy as well as our country's defense. In some ways, one could say ironically that by fighting the British, we gave an example to the Arabs on how to get organized against us. In my mind, Jews in Israel have become arrogant on our sole rights to this land, and we have forgotten that we didn't build the country completely on our own. I think that some humility is needed. I hope King Charles III will show the same respect for Israel as his mother did.
The New Jewish Year at the Napoleon Hill Musiclounge
