Between February 21 and March 7, 2026, we will be hosting a festival of Israeli harpsichord players in the salon facing Napoleon Hill in Ramat Gan. David Shemer, Neta Lader, Yuval Rabin, and Yocheved Schwartz will perform in the salon programs closest to their hearts \u2014 programs into which they have invested years of research and deep exploration. Performers of historical music are usually musicians who seek an even greater connection to the sound, the touch, and the result that is as close as possible to the authentic \u2014 although, of course, no one can know exactly what \"authentic\" was. We have a wealth of information: surviving books in which we can read descriptions of historical instruments; instruments that have endured through the centuries; and, naturally, paintings where one can see, for example, the hand positions of the player. There are in-depth explanations about playing technique, performance style, and even recommendations regarding the musician's diet and the physical activities suitable for someone pursuing such a career. But in the end, all of this is not enough.\nIn fact, every piece is like a nut that the musician must crack. Each composer has their own unique language, and when the performer studies a work, they strive to crack the code of that composer's language. How do you know when the nut has been cracked? If it is a musical masterpiece, the player will feel it with great intensity \u2014 and the audience will soar to other realms while listening to the performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
